I produce music for my videos and films, as well as for performance. My most recent work has been for acoustic guitar, harmonica and voice. In the late eighties and early nineties, I was very interested in punk-based music and the harmonic nature of heavily distorted guitar. For much of my soundtrack work, I use synthesizers, and distorted natural sounds.
Collaboration in music production is an important element of the medium. Collaboration has helped me grow as an artist and as a person. It is invaluable. I have worked closely with the artist Jason Prost, Co-founder of NUM Records, and my close friend, for many years. Our collaborations have been fruitful, and I have learned much from his extensive talents in recording and musical composition. I see a direct connection between the collaborative nature of making films and making music. In many regards, the process is almost identical for me.
